接下来，以色列人要用皂荚木作闩。这里提到的闩，是皂荚木所制，可能是支持帐幕两侧和棚架的横杆。
总共有十五根闩 (26-27 节)。每面板各五闩，南面五闩，北面五闩。
另外，又为帐幕后面的板做五闩，也就是西面。
板腰间的中闩要从这一头通到那一头。这可能意味着中闩要比其它的长。它显然要穿过竖板上所钻的洞，而其它的闩，是穿过环。
闩需要用金子包裹，另外他们要做板上的金环套闩。这闩，是要支撑作帐幕墙的竖板。
同样，闩也要用金子包裹。
在 30 节，耶和华提醒摩西，要照着在山上指示你的样式立起帐幕。这是出埃及记 25:40 的重述，强调按这些确切规格建造帐幕是何等地重要，是不能做任何更改或添加的。
