出埃及记 26:31-35 含义

幔子 (希伯来文 "paroket" 意为 "帘子" ) 要用制成帐幕墙的相同布料制造。

要用相同的蓝色、紫色、朱红色线 (可能是染红的羊毛),和捻的细麻织幔子也要以巧匠的手工绣上基路伯。基路伯可能是编织、绣制而成,或采用其它装饰方式制作而成。

他们要把幔子挂在四根包金的皂荚木柱子上,柱子上当有金钩,柱子安在四个带卯的银座上。这卯座可能是柱子的底座。这些与 37 节一样,只是这里有提到用银制造,而 37 节是用不是太贵重的金属铜制造而成。

要使幔子垂在钩子下,把法柜抬进幔子内,意思是法柜需要被带入至圣所。

幔子的目的是要将圣所和至圣所隔开。耶和华圣洁的同在要与百姓分开。

他们要把施恩座安在至圣所内的法柜上施恩座是约柜上的遮盖 (出埃及记 25:17-21)。这施恩座是大祭司为百姓赎罪的地方 (利未记 16:15-16)。

帐幕的其它物品要安在幔子外,至圣所的外面。帐幕的这一部分被称为圣所。桌子要放在另一面,而灯台安在帐幕的南面彼此相对。这样桌子就在圣所的北面

幔子列举了两种材料。首先是蓝色、紫色、朱红色线,第二种是捻的细麻。虽然第一组蓝色、紫色、朱红色的材料并不具体,但传统意义上被认为是染色的羊毛。这捻的细麻是由亚麻做成,是一种可以纺织的植物纤维,或制成线。

记录第一世纪犹太人思想的塔木德阐述了蓝色、紫色、朱红色线和染色的羊毛线。十二世纪的拉比,犹太思想中最信赖的解经家之一,通常以首字母缩略词 "Rashi" 被人所认知。他论这节经文说,"每一条线当中有四种不同的纤维。一种亚麻和三种羊毛,每条线有六折。"同样,现代拉比通常将希伯来文单词 "Tekhelet" (在此译为蓝色) 译为 "蓝羊毛"。这应该说得通,因为以色列人曾经是牧羊人。

细麻或捻的细麻可能是白色的,没有染色。细麻衣是圣经中一幅常见的公义图画。有趣的是,后来以色列人被禁止穿羊毛细麻混杂的衣服 (申命记 22:11),只有大祭司的圣袍和帐幕幔子是混合材料制成。
