凡心里有智慧做工的，用十幅幔子做帐幕，这就开始了帐幕的建造。过程的第一部分是制造幔子。他们需要制造十幅幔子，是用捻的细麻和蓝色、紫色、朱红色线制造的。
幔子也绣上基路伯为装饰。这基路伯 (复数) 似乎是一类天使，与守护耶和华同在之圣洁有关。在亚当和夏娃被赶出伊甸园之后，基路伯被安置来守护伊甸园门口 (创世记 3:24)，而且基路伯也被安置于约柜之上 (出埃及记 25:18)。而且，基路伯的图像也被绣在帐幕的幔子之上，也就是耶和华要居住之地。这些天使般的装饰是一个可见的提醒，提醒他们帐幕是圣地。由于基路伯的重要性，他们需要用巧匠的手工来绣。事实上，是比撒列亲手所做。

为了将幔子连起来，以撒列在这相连的幔子末幅边上做蓝色的钮扣，在那相连的幔子末幅边上也照样做 (11 节)。希伯来文 "纽扣" 一词 ( "lulai" ) 只用于出埃及记 26 章和 36 章。如何制造纽扣的描述是在出埃及记 26:4。为了提供连接幔子的方式，他在这相连的幔子上做五十个钮扣，在那相连的幔子上也做五十个钮扣 (12 节)，以确保两两相对。
纽扣做好，安在幔子之后，他又做五十个金钩，使幔子相连。这才成了一个帐幕 (13 节)。这 "五十个钩子" (细节在出埃及记 26:5) 是与纽扣一起使用，来将幔子连在一起。连在一起之后，幔子就组成了 "一幅帐幕" 墙 (出埃及记 26:6)。
