加拉太书3:15-18 含义

保罗提出的论点是,神赐给亚伯拉罕的应许指的是亚伯拉罕的子孙(也就是说,一位子孙,耶稣)。保罗所指的可能是下面两节经文之一。要注意的是,译为"众子孙"的希伯来文单词是"zera",它是"子孙(seed)"一词的单数形式,但大多数圣经版本把"zera"译为复数形式的"众子孙"。

保罗陈述,赐给亚伯拉罕这个应许的应验是在耶稣身上,律法与它没有任何关系。

这里,保罗的论点取决于圣经对一个名词单数的使用,而不是复数,注意到这点是有趣的。保罗指出,圣经说的是子孙,而不是众子孙。耶稣证实了这类圣经中细节的关注。他在马太福音5:18中说,"我实在告诉你们,就是到天地都废去了,律法的一点一画也不能废去,都要成全。"圣经的每一个字都是神写的,并会发生。"子孙"没有加上"众"使之成为复数的事实,告诉我们耶稣是万国都要得福之应许的应验。

就是这个应许,加拉太地区的外邦信徒都在从中受益。主要的一点是,他们正在从基督和神的应许中受益,而不是从律法中受益。律法与亚伯拉罕、或与神赐给亚伯拉罕的应许没有任何关系。在神赐给亚伯拉罕应许的四百三十年之后才出现律法。

保罗也指出,律法不是对应许的修正或者替换。更重要的是,它不叫应许归于虚空。藉着亚伯拉罕所应许的某物,不能被430年后建立的律法所替换。这产业是基于应许,不是基于一套规条。神是凭著应许把产业赐给亚伯拉罕,外邦人(例如加拉太人)也以亚伯拉罕相同的方式继承应许:藉着信。
