箴言11章27节，所罗门写道： “殷勤寻求良善的，必蒙恩惠；殷勤寻求邪恶的，必遭祸患。” （27节）人心的方向至关重要。一个人积极追求的事物，塑造了他所处的世界。
勤勉行善，就是有意识地追求造福他人、取悦上帝的事。这样的人寻求恩惠并非出于权宜之计，而是因为行善符合上帝的旨意。恩惠往往伴随着一生行善之人。
然而，寻衅作恶者，必将招致祸患。这正是道德颠倒的又一例证。他意图造成的伤害，最终却招致了自己所遭受的伤害。《箴言》不断提醒我们，我们的追求绝非中立，它们塑造着我们的未来。
