The Bible Says
路得记2:1-7 含义

在士师记期间,以色列处于自治状态。律法是神赐下的,他们从自己人当中挑选士师审判官。但这要靠民众来强制遵守,没有中央政权。神的律法中涉及穷人的条例之一可以在耶和华晓谕摩西的利未记23:22里找到:

"在你们的地收割庄稼,不可割尽田角,也不可拾取所遗落的;要留给穷人和寄居的。我是耶和华─你们的神。"

很明显,路得是知道这个规定的,因为她请求拿俄米,同意她使用这个条例,去田间拾取麦穗,说"容我往田间去,我蒙谁的恩,就在谁的身后拾取麦穗。"拿俄米同意了路得的请求,说"女儿啊,你只管去。" 所以她就去了,来到田间,在收割的人身后拾取麦穗;她恰巧到了以利米勒本族的人波阿斯那块田里,以利米勒是拿俄米的亡夫/拿俄米死去的丈夫。

鉴于神的手和主权这一首要主题,经文选择了一个这样的措辞,即路得恰巧来到波阿斯的那块田里,这一点很有趣。这个选择看起来是个真正的偶然,而神同时也在推进祂的主权之手。

这个故事介绍了波阿斯是拿俄米丈夫亲族是个大财主。波阿斯的富有,部分原因似乎是他对自己的事务很用心。他注意到路得在他的田里拾取麦穗。波阿斯问候他的仆人,说"愿耶和华与你们同在"。这显然是当时的正常问候方式,因为他的仆人把这样的问候回赠于,反过来说"愿耶和华赐福与你。"很明显,在那个时代,以色列国与以色列的神有着清晰的联结,甚至体现在他们的日常对话中。

波阿斯问监管收割的仆人说:"那是谁家的女子?"我们并没有被告知,为什么波阿斯有兴趣想了解这位年轻的妇人。波阿斯也没有质疑她在自己田里拾取麦穗的权利。

我们被告知,村里的女人们都注意到拿俄米和路得回城。她们也已经传播了这个消息。监管收割的仆人回答说:"是那摩押女子,跟随拿俄米从摩押地回来的。"在路得提出了一个礼貌的请求后,说"请你容我跟着收割的人拾取打捆剩下的麦穗",管事的仆人就许可她拾取麦穗。路得并没有要求,而是请求。在注意到她整个上午都在辛苦地做工后,他们允许她休息,并在屋子里坐一会儿
