The Bible Says
Proverbs 12:7 Meaning

In Proverbs 12:7, Solomon writes, The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous will stand (v. 7). This proverb contrasts the collapse of the wicked with the endurance of the righteous. Again, Solomon emphasizes that moral direction shapes lasting outcome.

The wicked are overthrown because evil has no true permanence. It may rise, dominate, and impress for a time, but it cannot create a stable future. What is built against God’s design eventually collapses under its own crookedness.

The house of the righteous, however, will stand. House here can refer to household, lineage, legacy, and the broader sphere of life one builds. Righteousness strengthens what it touches because it aligns with truth. The blessing of wisdom often extends beyond the individual into the enduring stability of the home.
