In Proverbs 13:22, Solomon says, A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, and the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous (v. 22). Goodness is generational, and a righteous life often leaves behind more than immediate benefit.
The inheritance includes material provision, but also the broader legacy of wisdom, stability, and godly example. The good man builds in a way that blesses even his grandchildren. His life bears fruit that extends beyond his own lifetime.
The second line shows that sinful wealth is not ultimately secure. The wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous because God governs the final direction of gain. Wicked accumulation is unstable and may end up serving purposes other than those the sinner intended.
