TR Concordance for δύο

As he was walking along the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter), and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea ​— ​for they were fishermen.

Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat with Zebedee their father, preparing their nets, and he called them.

“And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two.

When he had come to the other side, to the region of the Gadarenes,[fn] two demon-possessed men met him as they came out of the tombs. They were so violent that no one could pass that way.

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David! ”

“Don't take a traveling bag for the road, or an extra shirt, sandals, or a staff, for the worker is worthy of his food.

“Aren't two sparrows sold for a penny?[fn] Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father's consent.[fn]

Now when John heard in prison what the Christ was doing, he sent a message through his disciples

“But we only have five loaves and two fish here,” they said to him.

Then he commanded the crowds to sit down on the grass. He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them. He broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.

“If your hand or your foot causes you to fall away, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or lame than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into the eternal fire.

“But if he won't listen, take one or two others with you, so that by the testimony[fn] of two or three witnesses every fact may be established.

“Again, truly I tell you, if two of you on earth agree about any matter that you[fn] pray for, it will be done for you[fn] by my Father in heaven.

“and he also said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'?

“What do you want? ” he asked her.

“Promise,”[fn] she said to him, “that these two sons of mine may sit, one on your right and the other on your left, in your kingdom.”

When the ten disciples heard this, they became indignant with the two brothers.

There were two blind men sitting by the road. When they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David! ”

When they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage at the Mount of Olives, Jesus then sent two disciples,

“What do you think? A man had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘My son, go work in the vineyard today.'

“Which of the two did his father's will? ”

They said, “The first.”

Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you.

“Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left.

“To one he gave five talents,[fn] to another two talents, and to another one talent, depending on each one's ability. Then he went on a journey. Immediately

“In the same way the man with two earned two more.

“The man with two talents also approached. He said, ‘Master, you gave me two talents. See, I've earned two more talents.'

“You know[fn] that the Passover takes place after two days, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”

Taking along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled.

but they could not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward.[fn] Finally, two[fn] who came forward

The governor asked them, “Which of the two do you want me to release for you? ”

“Barabbas! ” they answered.

Then two criminals[fn] were crucified with him, one on the right and one on the left.

Suddenly, the curtain of the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom, the earth quaked, and the rocks were split.

He summoned the Twelve and began to send them out in pairs and gave them authority over unclean spirits.

but to wear sandals and not put on an extra shirt.

He asked them, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.”

When they found out they said, “Five, and two fish.”

He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke the loaves. He kept giving them to his disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all.

“And if your hand causes you to fall away, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than to have two hands and go to hell, the unquenchable fire.[fn]

“And if your foot causes you to fall away, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than to have two feet and be thrown into hell.[fn]

“And if your eye causes you to fall away, gouge it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell,

“and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

When they approached Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany near the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples

Then a poor widow came and dropped in two tiny coins worth very little.

It was two days before the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread. The chief priests and the scribes were looking for a cunning way to arrest Jesus and kill him.

So he sent two of his disciples and told them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him.

They crucified two criminals[fn] with him, one on his right and one on his left.[fn]

Then the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

and to offer a sacrifice (according to what is stated in the law of the Lord, a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons).

He replied to them, “The one who has two shirts must share with someone who has none, and the one who has food must do the same.”

He saw two boats at the edge of the lake; the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets.

and sent them to the Lord, asking, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else? ”

“A creditor had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii,[fn] and the other fifty.

“Take nothing for the road,” he told them, “no staff, no traveling bag, no bread, no money; and don't take an extra shirt.

“You give them something to eat,” he told them.

“We have no more than five loaves and two fish,” they said, “unless we go and buy food for all these people.”

Then he took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke them. He kept giving them to the disciples to set before the crowd.

Suddenly, two men were talking with him ​— ​Moses and Elijah.

Peter and those with him were in a deep sleep,[fn] and when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men who were standing with him.

After this, the Lord appointed seventy-two[fn] others, and he sent them ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself was about to go.

“The next day[fn] he took out two denarii,[fn] gave them to the innkeeper, and said, ‘Take care of him. When I come back I'll reimburse you for whatever extra you spend.'

“Aren't five sparrows sold for two pennies?[fn] Yet not one of them is forgotten in God's sight.

“From now on, five in one household will be divided: three against two, and two against three.

He also said, “A man had two sons.

“I tell you, on that night two will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left.

“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

As he approached Bethphage and Bethany, at the place called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of the disciples

“That is enough! ” he told them.

Two others ​— ​criminals ​— ​were also led away to be executed with him.

While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men stood by them in dazzling clothes.

Now that same day two of them were on their way to a village called Emmaus, which was about seven miles[fn] from Jerusalem.

The next day, John was standing with two of his disciples.

The two disciples heard him say this and followed Jesus.

Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of the two who heard John and followed him.

Now six stone water jars had been set there for Jewish purification. Each contained twenty or thirty gallons.[fn]

So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days.

After two days he left there for Galilee.

“There's a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish ​— ​but what are they for so many? ”

“Even in your law it is written that the testimony of two witnesses is true.

So when he heard that he was sick, he stayed two more days in the place where he was.

There they crucified him and two others with him, one on either side, with Jesus in the middle.

The two were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and got to the tomb first.

She saw two angels in white sitting where Jesus's body had been lying, one at the head and the other at the feet.

Simon Peter, Thomas (called “Twin”[fn]), Nathanael from Cana of Galilee, Zebedee's sons, and two others of his disciples were together.

While he was going, they were gazing into heaven, and suddenly two men in white clothes stood by them.

So they proposed two: Joseph, called Barsabbas, who was also known as Justus, and Matthias.

“When he heard this, Moses fled and became an exile in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.

Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples heard that Peter was there and sent two men to him who urged him, “Don't delay in coming with us.”

When the angel who spoke to him had gone, he called two of his household servants and a devout soldier, who was one of those who attended him.

When Herod was about to bring him out for trial, that very night Peter, bound with two chains, was sleeping between two soldiers, while the sentries in front of the door guarded the prison.

This went on for two years, so that all the residents of Asia, both Jews and Greeks, heard the word of the Lord.

After sending to Macedonia two of those who assisted him, Timothy and Erastus, he himself stayed in Asia for a while.

But when they recognized that he was a Jew, they all shouted in unison for about two hours, “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians! ”

He summoned two of his centurions and said, “Get two hundred soldiers ready with seventy cavalry and two hundred spearmen to go to Caesarea at nine tonight.[fn]

Don't you know that anyone joined to a prostitute is one body with her? For Scripture says, The two will become one flesh.

If anyone speaks in a tongue, there are to be only two, or at the most three, each in turn, and let someone interpret.

Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should evaluate.

These things are being taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai and bears children into slavery ​— ​this is Hagar.

he made of no effect the law consisting of commands and expressed in regulations, so that he might create in himself one new man from the two, resulting in peace.

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.

I am torn between the two. I long to depart and be with Christ ​— ​which is far better ​— ​

The first woe has passed. There are still two more woes to come after this.

The beast was given a mouth to utter boasts and blasphemies. It was allowed to exercise authority[fn][fn] for forty-two months.

Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; it had two horns like a lamb,[fn] but it spoke like a dragon.

But the beast was taken prisoner, and along with it the false prophet, who had performed the signs in its presence. He deceived those who accepted the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image with these signs. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.
