The Nephilim[fn] were on the earth both in those days and afterward, when the sons of God came to the daughters of mankind, who bore children to them. They were the powerful men of old, the famous men.
“If only they had such a heart to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that they and their children would prosper forever.
“Be careful to obey all these things I command you, so that you and your children after you may prosper forever, because you will be doing what is good and right in the sight of the LORD your God.

Who am I, LORD God, and what is my house that you have brought me this far?
You made your people Israel your own people forever, and you, LORD, have become their God.

“He is the one who will build a house for my name. He will be my son, and I will be his father. I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.'

Blessed be your glorious name,
and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise.
At that time the book of Moses was read publicly to[fn] the people. The command was found written in it that no Ammonite or Moabite should ever enter the assembly of God,
You have rebuked the nations:
You have destroyed the wicked;
you have erased their name forever and ever.
He gives great victories to his king;
he shows loyalty to his anointed,
to David and his descendants forever.
The fear of the LORD is pure,
enduring forever;
the ordinances of the LORD are reliable
and altogether righteous.
The humble will eat and be satisfied;
those who seek the LORD will praise him.
May your hearts live forever!

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow his instructions[fn] have good insight.
His praise endures forever.
He distributes freely to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever.
His horn will be exalted in honor.
The mountains surround Jerusalem
and the LORD surrounds his people,
both now and forever.
“If your sons keep my covenant
and my decrees that I will teach them,
their sons will also sit on your throne forever.”
“This is my resting place forever;
I will make my home here
because I have desired it.
It is like the dew of Hermon[fn]
falling on the mountains of Zion.

Israel will be saved by the LORD
with an everlasting salvation;
you will not be put to shame or humiliated
for all eternity.
“Remember what happened long ago,
for I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and no one is like me.
Wake up, wake up!
Arm of the LORD, clothe yourself with strength.
Wake up as in days past,
as in generations long ago.
Wasn't it you who hacked Rahab to pieces,
who pierced the sea monster?
All your people will be righteous;
they will possess the land forever;
they are the branch I planted,

so that I may be glorified.

Hazor will become a jackals' den,

to be ruler over Israel for me.

Shepherd your people with your staff,
