And the king sent H7971 a man H376 from his presence H6440; but before H2962 the messenger H4397 came H935 to him, he said H559 to the elders H2205, “Do you see H7200 how H3588 this H2088 son H1121 of a murderer H7523 has sent H7971 a man to cut H5493 off H5493 my head H7218? Look H7200, when the messenger H4397 comes H935, shut H5462 the door H1817 and [fn]hold H3905 the door H1817 shut H3905 against him. Now in the seventh H7637 year H8141 Jehoiada H3077 sent H7971 orders and brought H3947 the captains H8269 of hundreds H3967 of the Carites H3746 and of the [fn]guards H7323, and brought H935 them to himself at the house H1004 of the LORD H3068. “I sent H7971 a plague H1698 among you [fn]as in Egypt H4714;

Their [fn]horsemen H6571 charge H6335 along H6335,

“I will remove H5486 human H120 and animal H929 life;

Neither H1571 H3808 their silver H3701 nor H1571 their gold H2091
Will be H3201 able H3201 to save H5337 them
On the day H3117 of the LORD'S H3068 anger H5678;

By the fire H784 of His jealousy H7068,

“On that day H3117 I will make H7760 the [fn]clans H505 of Judah H3063 like a firepot H784 H3595 among pieces of wood H6086 and a flaming H784 torch H3940 among sheaves H5995, so they will consume H398 on the right H3225 and on the left H8040 all H3605 the surrounding H5439 peoples H5971, while [fn]the inhabitants of Jerusalem H3389 again H5750 live H3427 on H8478 their own sites H8478 in Jerusalem H3389.

“And it will come H1961 about H1961 on that day H3117,” declares H5002 the LORD H3068 of armies H6635, “that I will eliminate H3772 the names H8034 of the idols H6091 from the land H776, and they will no H3808 longer H5750 be remembered H2142; and I will also H1571 remove H5674 the prophets H5030 and the unclean H2932 spirit H7307 from the land H776.
“Awake H5782, sword H2719, against H5921 My Shepherd H7462,
And against H5921 the Man H1397, My Associate H5997,”
Declares H5002 the LORD H3068 of armies H6635.
“Strike H5221 the Shepherd H7462 and the sheep H6629 will be scattered H6327;
And I will turn H7725 My hand H3027 [fn]against H5921 the little H6819 ones.
Now this H2088 will be the plague H4046 with which H834 the LORD H3068 will strike H5062 all H3605 the peoples H5971 who H834 have gone H6633 to war H6633 against H5921 Jerusalem H3389; their flesh H1320 will rot H4743 while they stand H5975 on their feet H7272, and their eyes H5869 will rot H4743 in their sockets H2356, and their tongue H3956 will rot H4743 in their mouth H6310.
“Then I will come H7126 near H7126 to you for judgment H4941; and I will be a swift H4116 witness H5707 against the sorcerers H3784, the adulterers H5003, against those who swear H7650 falsely H8267, those who [fn]oppress H6231 the wage H7916 earner H7916 in his wages H7939 or the widow H490 or the [fn]orphan H3490, and those who turn H5186 away H5186 the stranger H1616 from justice and do not [fn]fear H3372 Me,” says H559 the LORD H3068 of armies H6635.
