When Ahaziah H274 the king H4428 of Judah H3063 saw H7200 this, he fled H5127 by way H1870 of the garden H1588 house H1004. Now when he had gone H1980 from there H8033, he [fn]encountered H4672 Jehonadab H3082 the son H1121 of Rechab H7394 coming to meet H7122 him; and he [fn]greeted H1288 him and said H559 to him, “Is your heart H3824 right H3477, just H834 as H834 my heart H3824 is with your heart H3824?” And Jehonadab H3082 [fn]answered H559, “It is.” Jehu said, “If it is, give H5414 me your hand H3027.” And he gave H5414 him his hand H3027, and he pulled H5927 him up H5927 to him into the chariot H4818.

Now it happened H1961 at the turn H8622 of the year H8141 that the army H2428 of the Arameans H758 came H5927 up H5927 against H5921 Joash; and they came H935 to Judah H3063 and Jerusalem H3389, destroyed H7843 all H3605 the officials H8269 of the people H5971 from among the people H5971, and sent H7971 all H3605 their spoils H7998 to the king H4428 of Damascus H1834.
When they left H1980 him (for they left H5800 him very H7227 sick H4251), his own servants H5650 conspired H7194 against H5921 him because of the blood H1818 of the [fn]son H1121 of Jehoiada H3077 the priest H3548, and they murdered H2026 him on his bed H4296. Therefore the LORD H3068 his God H430 handed H5414 H3027 him over H5414 to the king H4428 of Aram H758; and they [fn]defeated H5221 him and carried H7617 from him a great H1419 number of captives H7633, and brought H935 them to Damascus H1834. And he was also H1571 handed H5414 H3027 over H5414 to the king H4428 of Israel H3478, who struck H5221 him with heavy H1419 casualties H4347.
