The Commandment to Love Yahweh

1 “Now this ^H2088 is the commandment ^H4687, the statutes ^H2706 and the judgments ^H4941, which ^H834 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 has commanded ^H6680 me to teach ^H3925 you, that you might do ^H6213 it in the land ^H776 where ^H834 H8033 you are going ^H5674 over ^H5674 to possess ^H3423 it,

2 so ^H4616 that you and your son ^H1121 and your grandson ^H1121 might fear ^H3372 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430, to keep ^H8104 all ^H3605 His statutes ^H2708 and His commandments ^H4687 which ^H834 I am commanding ^H6680 you, all ^H3605 the days ^H3117 of your life ^H2416, and that your days ^H3117 may be prolonged ^H748. 3 O Israel ^H3478, you shall listen ^H8085 and [fn]be ^H8104 careful ^H8104 to do ^H6213 it, that it may be well ^H3190 with you and that you may multiply ^H7235 greatly ^H3966, just ^H834 as Yahweh ^H3068, the God ^H430 of your fathers ^H1, has promised ^H1696 you, in a land ^H776 flowing ^H2100 with milk ^H2461 and honey ^H1706.

4 “Hear ^H8085, O Israel ^H3478! [fn]Yahweh ^H3068 is our God ^H430, Yahweh ^H3068 is one ^H259! 5 You shall love ^H157 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 with all ^H3605 your heart ^H3824 and with all ^H3605 your soul ^H5315 and with all ^H3605 your might ^H3966. 6 These ^H428 words ^H1697, which ^H834 I am commanding ^H6680 you today ^H3117, shall be on your heart ^H3824. 7 You shall teach ^H8150 them diligently ^H8150 to your sons ^H1121 and shall speak ^H1696 of them when you sit ^H3427 in your house ^H1004 and when you walk ^H1980 by the way ^H1870 and when you lie ^H7901 down ^H7901 and when you rise ^H6965 up ^H6965. 8 You shall bind ^H7194 them as a sign ^H226 on your hand ^H3027, and they shall be as [fn]phylacteries ^H2903 between ^H996 your eyes ^H5869. 9 You shall write ^H3789 them on the doorposts ^H4201 of your house ^H1004 and on your gates ^H8179.

10 “Then it will be ^H1961, when ^H3588 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 brings ^H935 you into the land ^H776 which ^H834 He swore ^H7650 to your fathers ^H1, to Abraham ^H85, to Isaac ^H3327, and to Jacob ^H3290, to give ^H5414 you, great ^H1419 and good ^H2896 cities ^H5892 which ^H834 you did not build ^H1129, 11 and houses ^H1004 full ^H4392 of all ^H3605 good ^H2898 things ^H2898 which ^H834 you did not fill ^H4390, and hewn ^H2672 cisterns ^H953 which ^H834 you did not dig ^H2672, vineyards ^H3754 and olive ^H2132 trees ^H2132 which ^H834 you did not plant ^H5193, and you will eat ^H398 and be ^H7646 satisfied ^H7646, 12 then beware ^H8104, lest ^H6435 you forget ^H7911 Yahweh ^H3068 who ^H834 brought ^H3318 you from the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714, out of the house ^H1004 of [fn]slavery ^H5650. 13 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 you shall [fn]fear ^H3372; and Him you shall serve ^H5647; and by His name ^H8034 you shall swear ^H7650. 14 You shall not walk ^H1980 after ^H310 other ^H312 gods ^H430, any ^H312 of the gods ^H430 of the peoples ^H5971 who ^H834 surround ^H5439 you, 15 for Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 in the midst ^H7130 of you is a jealous ^H7067 God ^H410—lest ^H6435 the anger ^H639 of Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 be kindled ^H2734 against you, and He destroy ^H8045 you from ^H4480 H5921 the face ^H6440 of the earth ^H127.

16 “You shall not put ^H5254 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 to ^H5254 the ^H5254 test ^H5254, as you tested ^H5254 Him at Massah ^H4532. 17 You should diligently ^H8104 keep ^H8104 the commandments ^H4687 of Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 and His testimonies ^H5713 and His statutes ^H2706 which ^H834 He has commanded ^H6680 you. 18 And you shall do ^H6213 what is right ^H3477 and good ^H2896 in the sight ^H5869 of Yahweh ^H3068, that it may be ^H3190 well ^H3190 with you and that you may go ^H935 in ^H935 and possess ^H3423 the good ^H2896 land ^H776 which ^H834 Yahweh ^H3068 swore ^H7650 to give your fathers ^H1, 19 by driving ^H1920 out ^H1920 all ^H3605 your enemies ^H340 from before ^H6440 you, as Yahweh ^H3068 has spoken ^H1696.
