Egypt Will Be Brought Down to Sheol

1 Now it happened in the eleventh ^H259 H6240 year ^H8141, in the third ^H7992 month, on the first ^H259 of the month ^H2320, that the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 came ^H1961 to me saying ^H559,

2 “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, say ^H559 to Pharaoh ^H6547 king ^H4428 of Egypt ^H4714 and to his multitude ^H1995,

‘To whom ^H413 H4310 do you liken ^H1819 yourself in your greatness ^H1433?

3 ‘Behold ^H2009, Assyria ^H804 was a cedar ^H730 in Lebanon ^H3844

With beautiful ^H3303 branches ^H6057 and forest ^H2793 shade ^H6751

And lofty ^H1364 in height ^H6967,

And its top ^H6788 was among ^H996 the [fn]clouds ^H5645.

4 ‘The waters ^H4325 made it grow ^H1431; the [fn]deep ^H8415 made ^H7311 it high ^H7311.

With its rivers ^H5104 it was going ^H1980 all ^H5439 around ^H5439 its planting ^H4302 place ^H4302

7 ‘So it was ^H3302 beautiful ^H3302 in its greatness ^H1433, in the length ^H753 of its foliage ^H1808;

For its [fn]roots ^H8328 extended ^H1961 to many ^H7227 waters ^H4325.

8 ‘The cedars ^H730 in God’s ^H430 garden ^H1588 [fn]could not match ^H6004 it;

The [fn]cypresses ^H1265 [fn]could not liken ^H1819 themselves with its boughs ^H5589,

And the plane ^H6196 trees ^H6196 were not like its branches ^H6288.

9 ‘I made ^H6213 it beautiful ^H3303 with the multitude ^H7230 of its foliage ^H1808,

18 “To which ^H4310 among the trees ^H6086 of Eden ^H5731 do you thus ^H3602 liken ^H1819 yourself in glory ^H3519 and greatness ^H1433? Yet you will be brought ^H3381 down ^H3381 with the trees ^H6086 of Eden ^H5731 to the earth ^H776 beneath ^H8482; you will lie ^H7901 in the midst ^H8432 of the uncircumcised ^H6189, with those who were slain ^H2491 by the sword ^H2719. So is Pharaoh ^H6547 and all ^H3605 his multitude ^H1995!”’ declares ^H5002 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068.”
