The Flood Subsides
1 But God H430 remembered H2142 Noah H5146 and all H3605 the animals H2416 and all H3605 the livestock H929 that were with him in the ark H8392; and God H430 caused a wind H7307 to pass H5674 over H5921 the earth H776, and the water H4325 subsided H7918.
2 Also the fountains H4599 of the deep H8415 and the [fn]floodgates H699 of the sky H8064 were H5534 closed H5534, and the rain H1653 from the sky H8064 was restrained H3607; 3 and the water H4325 receded H7725 steadily H1980 from the earth H776, and at the end H7097 of 150 H3967 H2572 days H3117 the water H4325 decreased H2637. 4 Then in the seventh H7637 month H2320, on the seventeenth H7651 H6240 day H3117 of the month H2320, the ark H8392 rested H5117 upon the mountains H2022 of Ararat H780. 5 And the water H4325 decreased H2637 steadily H1980 until H5704 the tenth H6224 month H2320; in the tenth H6224 month, on the first H259 day of the month H2320, the tops H7218 of the mountains H2022 became H7200 visible H7200.
6 Then it came H1961 about H1961 at the end H7093 of forty H705 days H3117, that Noah H5146 opened H6605 the window H2474 of the ark H8392 which H834 he had made H6213; 7 and he sent H7971 out H7971 a raven H6158, and it [fn]flew H3318 here H3318 and there H7725 until H5704 the water H4325 was dried H3001 up H3001 [fn]from the earth H776. 8 Then he sent H7971 out H7971 a [fn]dove H3123, to see H7200 if the water H4325 was H7043 low H7043 on the [fn]surface H6440 of the land H127; 9 but the dove H3123 found H4672 no H3808 resting H4494 place H4494 for the sole H3709 of its foot H7272, so it returned H7725 to him in the ark H8392, for the water H4325 was on the [fn]surface H6440 of all H3605 the earth H776. Then he put H7971 out H7971 his hand H3027 and took H3947 it, and brought H935 it into the ark H8392 to himself. 10 So he waited H3176 another H312 seven H7651 days H3117 longer H5750; and again H3254 he sent H7971 out H7971 the dove H3123 from the ark H8392. 11 And the dove H3123 came H935 to him in [fn]the evening H6153, and behold H2009, in its [fn]beak H6310 was a fresh H2965 olive H2132 leaf H5929. So Noah H5146 knew H3045 that the water H4325 was H7043 low H7043 on the earth H776. 12 Then he waited H3176 another H312 seven H7651 days H3117 longer H5750, and sent H7971 out H7971 the dove H3123; but it did not return H7725 to him again H3254.
13 Now it came H1961 about H1961 in the six H8337 hundred H3967 and first H259 year H8141, in the first H7223 month, on the first H259 of the month H2320, that the water H4325 was dried H2717 up H2717 [fn]from the earth H776. Then Noah H5146 removed H5493 the covering H4372 of the ark H8392, and looked H7200, and behold H2009, the [fn]surface H6440 of the ground H127 had dried H2717 up H2717. 14 And in the second H8145 month H2320, on the twenty-seventh H6242 H7651 day H3117 of the month H2320, the earth H776 was H3001 dry H3001. 15 Then God H430 spoke H1696 to Noah H5146, saying H559, 16 “Go H3318 out H3318 of the ark H8392, you and your wife H802 and your sons H1121 and your sons’ H1121 wives H802 with you. 17 Bring H3318 out H3318 with you every H3605 living H2416 thing H2416 of all H3605 flesh H1320 that is with you, birds H5775 and animals H929 and every H3605 crawling H7431 thing H7431 that crawls H7430 on the earth H776, that they may [fn]breed H8317 abundantly H8317 on the earth H776, and be H6509 fruitful H6509 and multiply H7235 on the earth H776.” 18 So Noah H5146 went H3318 out H3318, and his sons H1121 and his wife H802, and his sons’ H1121 wives H802 with him. 19 Every H3605 animal H2416, every H3605 crawling H7431 thing H7431, and every H3605 bird H5775, everything H3605 that moves H7430 on the earth H776, went H3318 out H3318 [fn]by their families H4940 from the ark H8392.
20 Then Noah H5146 built H1129 an altar H4196 to the LORD H3068, and took H3947 some H4480 of every H3605 kind of clean H2889 animal H929 and some H4480 of every H3605 clean H2889 bird H5775 and offered H5927 burnt H5930 offerings H5930 on the altar H4196. 21 The LORD H3068 smelled H7306 the soothing H5207 aroma H7381, and the LORD H3068 said H559 [fn]to Himself H3820, “I will never H3808 H5750 again H3254 curse H7043 the ground H127 on account H5668 of man H120, for the [fn]intent H3336 of man’s H120 heart H3820 is evil H7451 from his youth H5271; and I will never H3808 H5750 again H3254 [fn]destroy H5221 every H3605 living H2416 thing H2416, as I have done H6213.
22 “While H5750 the earth H776 remains H5750 H3605 H3117,
Seedtime H2233 and harvest H7105,
Summer H7019 and winter H2779,
Shall not cease H7673.”
