Israel Reaps the Whirlwind
1 Put the trumpet H7782 to your [fn]lips H2441!
Like an eagle H5404 the enemy comes against H5921 the house H1004 of the LORD H3068,
Because H3282 they have violated H5674 My covenant H1285
And rebelled H6586 against H5921 My Law H8451.
2 They cry H2199 out H2199 to Me,
“My God H430, we of Israel H3478 know H3045 You!”
3 Israel H3478 has rejected H2186 the good H2896;
The enemy H340 will pursue H7291 him.
4 They have set H4427 up H4427 kings H4427, but not by Me;
They have appointed H8323 officials H8323, but I did not know H3045 it.
With their silver H3701 and gold H2091 they have made H6213 idols H6091 for themselves,

8 Israel H3478 has been swallowed H1104 up H1104;

9 For they have gone H5927 up H5927 to Assyria H804,
Like a wild H6501 donkey H6501 all alone H909;
