Naphtali did not drive out the residents of Beth-shemesh or the residents of Beth-anath. They lived among the Canaanites who were living in the land, but the residents of Beth-shemesh and Beth-anath served as their forced labor.
Naphtali H5321 did not drive H3423 out H3423 the inhabitants H3427 of Beth-shemesh H1053, or the inhabitants H3427 of Beth-anath H1043, but lived H3427 among H7130 the Canaanites H3669, the inhabitants H3427 of the land H776; and the inhabitants H3427 of Beth-shemesh H1053 and Beth-anath H1043 became H1961 forced H4522 labor H4522 for them.

وَنَفْتَالِي لَمْ يَطْرُدْ سُكَّانَ بَيْتِ شَمْسٍ، وَلاَ سُكَّانَ بَيْتِ عَنَاةَ، بَلْ سَكَنَ فِي وَسَطِ الْكَنْعَانِيِّينَ سُكَّانِ الأَرْضِ. فَكَانَ سُكَّانُ بَيْتِ شَمْسٍ وَبَيْتِ عَنَاةَ تَحْتَ الْجِزْيَةِ لَهُمْ.
