فَقَالَ مَلاَكُ الرَّبِّ لِمَنُوحَ: «وَلَوْ عَوَّقْتَنِي لاَ آكُلُ مِنْ خُبْزِكَ، وَإِنْ عَمِلْتَ مُحْرَقَةً فَلِلرَّبِّ أَصْعِدْهَا». لأَنَّ مَنُوحَ لَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ مَلاَكُ الرَّبِّ.

فَأَجَابَ مَلاكُ الرَّبِّ: «وَلَوْ أَعَقْتَنِي لَنْ آكُلَ مِنْ خُبْزِكَ، وَإِنْ قَرَّبْتَ مُحْرَقَةً فَلِلرَّبِّ قَدِّمْهَا». وَلَمْ يَكُنْ مَنُوحُ يُدْرِكُ أَنَّ الرَّجُلَ هُوَ مَلاكُ الرَّبِّ.
