Agag came to him trembling,[fn] for he thought, “Certainly the bitterness of death has come.”[fn][fn]

καὶ εἶπεν Σαμουηλ προσαγάγετέ μοι τὸν Αγαγ βασιλέα Αμαληκ καὶ προσῆλθεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Αγαγ τρέμων καὶ εἶπεν Αγαγ εἰ οὕτως πικρὸς θάνατος

وَقَالَ صَمُوئِيلُ: «قَدِّمُوا إِلَيَّ أَجَاجَ مَلِكَ عَمَالِيقَ». فَذَهَبَ إِلَيْهِ أَجَاجُ فَرِحًا. وَقَالَ أَجَاجُ: «حَقًّا قَدْ زَالَتْ مَرَارَةُ الْمَوْتِ».

ثُمَّ قَالَ صَمُوئِيلُ: «قَدِّمُوا إِلَيَّ أَجَاجَ مَلِكَ الْعَمَالِقَةِ». فَأَقْبَلَ إِلَيْهِ أَجَاجُ فَرِحاً قَائِلاً لِنَفْسِهِ: «حَقّاً قَدْ تَلاشَتْ مَرَارَةُ الْمَوْتِ».

And Samuel said, Bring me Agag the king of Amalec: and Agag came to him trembling; and Agag said, [fn]Is death thus bitter?
