When your people Israel are defeated before an enemy,
because they have sinned against you,
and they return to you and praise your name,
and they pray and plead with you
for mercy in this temple,
“When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy because they have sinned against You, and then they turn to You again and praise Your Name and pray and ask for Your favor and compassion in this house (temple),
إِذَا انْكَسَرَ شَعْبُكَ إِسْرَائِيلُ أَمَامَ الْعَدُوِّ لأَنَّهُمْ أَخْطَأُوا إِلَيْكَ، ثُمَّ رَجَعُوا إِلَيْكَ وَاعْتَرَفُوا بِاسْمِكَ وَصَلَّوْا وَتَضَرَّعُوا إِلَيْكَ نَحْوَ هذَا الْبَيْتِ،
