فَصَعِدْنَا إِلَى سَفِينَةٍ أَدْرَامِيتِينِيَّةٍ، وَأَقْلَعْنَا مُزْمِعِينَ أَنْ نُسَافِرَ مَارِّينَ بِالْمَوَاضِعِ الَّتِي فِي أَسِيَّا. وَكَانَ مَعَنَا أَرِسْتَرْخُسُ، رَجُلٌ مَكِدُونِيٌّ مِنْ تَسَالُونِيكِي.

فَرَكِبْنَا سَفِينَةً قَادِمَةً مِنْ أَدْرَامِيتَ، مُتَّجِهَةً إِلَى مَوَانئِ مُقَاطَعَةِ آسِيَّا. وَرَافَقَنَا فِي الرِّحْلَةِ أَرِسْتَرْخُسُ مِنْ مَدِينَةِ تَسَالُونِيكِي فِي مُقَاطَعَةِ مَقِدُونِيَّةَ.
