وَقَالَ شَاوُلُ: «أُعْطِيهِ إِيَّاهَا فَتَكُونُ لَهُ شَرَكًا وَتَكُونُ يَدُ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ عَلَيْهِ». وَقَالَ شَاوُلُ لِدَاوُدَ ثَانِيَةً: «تُصَاهِرُنِي الْيَوْمَ».

وَقَالَ شَاوُلُ فِي نَفْسِهِ: «أُزَوِّجُهُ مِنْهَا فَتَكُونُ لَهُ فَخّاً، وَكَذَلِكَ يَسْعَى الْفِلِسْطِينِيُّونَ إِلَى قَتْلِهِ». وَقَالَ شَاوُلُ لِدَاوُدَ مَرَّةً ثَانِيَةً: «يُمْكِنُكَ مُصَاهَرَتِي الْيَوْمَ».

And Saul said, I will give her to him, and she shall be a stumbling-block to him. Now the hand of the Philistines was against Saul.
