So Achish called David and said to him, “As surely as the LORD lives, you have been reliable, and I would be pleased to have you serve with me in the army. From the day you came to me until today, I have found no fault in you, but the rulers don’t approve of you.

Then Achish called David and said to him, “As the LORD lives, you have been honest, and to me it seems right that you should march out and in with me in the campaign. For I have found nothing wrong in you from the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, the lords do not approve of you.

So Achish summoned David and told him, “As the LORD lives, you are an honorable man. I think it is good[fn] to have you fighting[fn] in this unit with me, because I have found no fault in you from the day you came to me until today. But the leaders don’t think you are reliable.

Then Achish called David and said to him, “As the LORD lives, you have indeed been honest, and your [fn]going out and your coming in with me in the army are pleasing in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, you are not pleasing in the sight of the governors.

Then Achish called David and said to him, “As the LORD lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army are pleasing in my sight; for I have not found evil in you from the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, you are not pleasing in the sight of the lords.

Then Achish called David and said to him, “As Yahweh lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the camp are pleasing in my sight; for I have not found evil in you from the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, you are not pleasing in the sight of the lords.

Then Achish called David and said to him, “As the LORD lives, you have been upright (righteous), and your [fn]behavior in the army is pleasing in my sight. For from the day you came to me to this day I have found no evil in you. Nevertheless, [fn]the [Philistine] lords do not approve of you.

So Achish summoned David and said to him, "As surely as the LORD lives, you are an honest man, and I am glad to have you serving with me in the army. I have found no fault with you from the day that you first came to me until the present time. But in the opinion of the leaders, you are not reliable.

Then A'chish called David and said to him, "As the LORD lives, you have been honest, and to me it seems right that you should march out and in with me in the campaign; for I have found nothing wrong in you from the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless the lords do not approve of you.

Then Achish called David, and said unto him, As Jehovah liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favor thee not.

And Achish calleth unto David, and saith unto him, 'Jehovah liveth, surely thou art upright, and good in mine eyes is thy going out, and thy coming in, with me in the camp, for I have not found in thee evil from the day of thy coming in unto me till this day; and in the eyes of the princes thou art not good;

And Achish called David, and said to him, As Jehovah liveth, thou art upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the camp is acceptable to me; for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming to me to this day; but thou art not acceptable to the lords.

فَدَعَا أَخِيشُ دَاوُدَ وَقَالَ لَهُ: «حَيٌّ هُوَ الرَّبُّ، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ مُسْتَقِيمٌ، وَخُرُوجُكَ وَدُخُولُكَ مَعِي فِي الْجَيْشِ صَالِحٌ فِي عَيْنَيَّ لأَنِّي لَمْ أَجِدْ فِيكَ شَرًّا مِنْ يَوْمِ جِئْتَ إِلَيَّ إِلَى الْيَوْمِ. وَأَمَّا فِي أَعْيُنِ الأَقْطَابِ فَلَسْتَ بِصَالِحٍ.

فَاسْتَدْعَى أَخِيشُ دَاوُدَ وَقَالَ لَهُ: «أُقْسِمُ لَكَ بِالرَّبِّ الْحَيِّ إِنَّكَ مُسْتَقِيمٌ، وَيَسُرُّنِي انْضِمَامُكَ إِلَى جَيْشِي لأَنَّنِي لَمْ أَجِدْ فِيكَ عِلَّةً مُنْذُ أَنْ جِئْتَ إِلَيَّ حَتَّى هَذَا الْيَوْمِ، غَيْرَ أَنَّ قَادَةَ جَيْشِي سَاخِطُونَ عَلَيْكَ.

And Anchus called David, and said to him, As the Lord lives, thou art right and approved in my eyes, and so is thy going out and thy coming in with me in the army, and I have not found any evil to charge against thee from the day that thou camest to me until this day: but thou art not approved in the eyes of the lords.

Then Achish sent for David and said to him, By the living Lord, you are upright, and everything you have done with me in the army has been pleasing to me: I have seen no evil in you from the day when you came to me till now: but still, the lords are not pleased with you.

Entonces Aquis llamó a David y le dijo: --¡Vive Jehovah, que tú has sido recto! Me ha parecido bien tu salir y tu entrar en el ejército conmigo, pues ninguna cosa mala he hallado en ti desde el día que viniste a mí, hasta el día de hoy. Pero a los ojos de los gobernantes tú no eres grato.
