But the gift is not like the trespass. For if by the one man’s trespass the many died, how much more have the grace of God and the gift which comes through the grace of the one man Jesus Christ overflowed to the many.
But [fn]the gracious G5486 gift G5486 is not like G5613 the offense G3900. For if G1487 by the offense G3900 of the one G1520 the many G4183 died G599, much G4183 more G3123 did the grace G5485 of God G2316 and the gift G1431 by the grace G5485 of the one G1520 Man G444, Jesus G2424 Christ G5547, overflow G4052 to the many G4183.
But [fn]the gracious G5486 gift G5486 is not like G5613 the transgression G3900. For if G1487 by the transgression G3900 of the one G1520 the many G4183 died G599, much G4183 more G3123 did the grace G5485 of God G2316 and the gift G1431 by the grace G5485 of the one G1520 Man G444, Jesus G2424 Christ G5547, abound G4052 to the many G4183.
But the free gift [of God] is not like the trespass [because the gift of grace overwhelms the fall of man]. For if many died by one man’s trespass [Adam’s sin], much more [abundantly] did God’s grace and the gift [that comes] by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to [benefit] the many.
The Textus Receptus (latin, "Received Text") is the Greek text originally compiled by Erasmus around 1516. Though the earliest work was prepared by Desiderius Erasmus, his work was later revised by Robert Estienne (or, Stephanus) and further revised by Theodore Beza. The text produced by each is substantially the same, aside from some minor variations. The Blue Letter Bible utilizes Stephanus' edition from 1550.
