Woe to you who long for the day of the LORD!
What will the day of the LORD be for you?
It will be darkness and not light.
Woe (judgment is coming) to you who desire the day of the LORD [expecting rescue from the Gentiles]!
Why would you want the day of the LORD?
It is darkness (judgment) and not light [and rescue and prosperity];
The Latin Vulgate was translated from the original languages into Latin by Jerome in A.D. 405. For over a millennium, it remained as the preferred translation of the church. This version of the Bible is in the public domain.
