وَامْتَنَعَ صَمُوئِيلُ عَنْ رُؤْيَةِ شَاوُلَ إِلَى يَوْمِ وَفَاتِهِ، مَعَ أَنَّ قَلْبَهُ تَمَزَّقَ أَسىً عَلَيْهِ. أَمَّا الرَّبُّ فَقَدْ أَسِفَ لأَنَّهُ أَقَامَ شَاوُلَ مَلِكاً عَلَى إِسْرَائِيلَ.
