فَقَالَ أَبِيمَالِكُ: «مَا هذَا الَّذِي صَنَعْتَ بِنَا؟ لَوْلاَ قَلِيلٌ لاضْطَجَعَ أَحَدُ الشَّعْبِ مَعَ امْرَأَتِكَ فَجَلَبْتَ عَلَيْنَا ذَنْبًا».

فَقَالَ أَبِيمَالِكُ: «مَا هَذَا الَّذِي فَعَلْتَ بِنَا؟ لَقَدْ كَانَ يَسِيراً عَلَى أَيِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنَ الشَّعْبِ أَنْ يَضْطَجِعَ مَعَ زَوْجَتِكَ فَتَجْلِبُ بِذَلِكَ عَلَيْنَا إِثْماً».

And Abimelech said to him, Why hast thou done this to us? one of my kindred [fn]within a little had lain with thy wife, and thou wouldest have brought a sin of ignorance upon us.
