فَقَالَ أَبِيشَايُ لِدَاوُدَ: «قَدْ حَبَسَ اللهُ الْيَوْمَ عَدُوَّكَ فِي يَدِكَ. فَدَعْنِيَ الآنَ أَضْرِبْهُ بِالرُّمْحِ إِلَى الأَرْضِ دَفْعَةً وَاحِدَةً وَلاَ أُثَنِّي عَلَيْهِ».

فَقَالَ أَبِيشَايُ لِدَاوُدَ: «لَقَدْ أَوْقَعَ اللهُ الْيَوْمَ عَدُوَّكَ فِي قَبْضَةِ يَدِكَ، فَدَعْنِي الآنَ أَطْعَنُهُ بِرُمْحِهِ إِلَى الأَرْضِ، فَأُجْهِزَ عَلَيْهِ بِضَرْبَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ».

And Abessa said to David, The Lord has this day shut up thine enemy into thine hands, and now I will [fn]smite him to the earth with the spear to the ground once for all, and I will not smite him again.

Entonces dijo Abisai á David: Hoy ha Dios entregado á tu enemigo en tus manos: ahora pues, herirélo luego con la lanza, cosiéndole con la tierra de un golpe, y no segundaré.
