胸牌做成之后，需要在上面做装饰。
首先，巧匠要做用精金拧成如绳的链子 (四条)。
需要做两个金环，安在胸牌的两头。这两个环可能是要连接链子，挂在肩膀上。他们要把那两条拧成的金链子，穿过胸牌两头的环子。这两条链子是要连于两个环，像金项链一样连于宝石牌。
另外又要把链子的那两头接在两槽上，安在以弗得前面肩带上。他们要将两条链子穿过金环，与挂在祭司肩膀上的带子连在一起。这胸牌与项链相似，但不是挂在脖子上，而是连于胸部。
还要做两个金环，安在胸牌的两头，在以弗得里面的边上。
另外，还要做两个金环，安在以弗得前面两条肩带的下边，挨近相接之处，在以弗得巧工织的带子以上。这就使胸牌与以弗得连在一起。
最后，他们需要用蓝细带子把胸牌的环子与以弗得的环子系住。这巧匠要将以弗得上的环和胸牌上的环连在一起，用蓝细带子系在一起，使胸牌贴在以弗得巧工织的带子上。这样的精美设计是要让胸牌不可与以弗得离缝，因为离缝会导致胸牌被弄脏，且使衣服在履行祭司职责时穿着不便。
