ثُمَّ دَعَا اثْنَيْنِ مِنْ قُوَّادِ الْمِئَاتِ وَقَالَ:«أَعِدَّا مِئَتَيْ عَسْكَرِيٍّ لِيَذْهَبُوا إِلَى قَيْصَرِيَّةَ، وَسَبْعِينَ فَارِسًا وَمِئَتَيْ رَامِحٍ، مِنَ السَّاعَةِ الثَّالِثَةِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ.

وَدَعَا اثْنَيْنِ مِنْ قُوَّادِ الْمِئَاتِ لَدَيْهِ، وَأَمَرَهُمَا قَائِلاً: «جَهِّزَا مِئَتَيْ جُنْدِيٍّ لِيَذْهَبُوا إِلَى قَيْصَرِيَّةَ السَّاعَةَ التَّاسِعَةَ مَسَاءَ اللَّيْلَةِ وَمَعَهُمْ سَبْعُونَ فَارِساً وَمِئَتَا حَامِلِ رُمْحٍ،
