耶利米书36:32 记载了先知耶利米如何拒绝让上帝的信息因约雅敬王的破坏性举动而被永久抹去，约雅敬王曾烧毁了原卷：
耶利米又拿了一卷书，交给尼利亚的儿子、文士巴录。巴录按照耶利米的口述，把犹大王约雅敬用火烧毁的书卷上的话都写在了书卷上，又加上了许多类似的话（第32节）。
耶利米对耶和华命令的坚定信心促使他重新口述了所有的话，确保了对犹大的警告和预言完整无缺。通过保存这些信息，耶利米肯定了上帝的话语必将战胜一切阻碍。
