Then Yahweh H3068 spoke H1696 to Moses H4872, “Go H1980! Go H5927 up H5927 from here H2088, you and the people H5971 whom H834 you have brought H5927 up H5927 from the land H776 of Egypt H4714, to the land H776 of which H834 I swore H7650 to Abraham H85, to Isaac H3327, and to Jacob H3290, saying H559, ‘To your seed H2233 I will give H5414 it.'
Then Moses H4872 said H559 to Yahweh H3068, “See H7200, You say H559 to me, ‘Bring H5927 up H5927 this H2088 people H5971!' Then [fn]God said H559, “Behold H2009, I am going to cut H3772 a covenant H1285. Before H5048 all H3605 your people H5971 I will do H6213 wondrous H6381 deeds H6381 which H834 have not been created H1254 in all H3605 the earth H776 nor H3808 among any H3605 of the nations H1471; and all H3605 the people H5971 [fn]among H7130 whom H834 you live will see H7200 the working H4639 of Yahweh H3068, for it is a fearful H3372 thing H3372 that I am going to do H6213 with you.
Then Moses H4872 said H559 to Aaron H175 and to his sons H1121, “Boil H1310 the flesh H1320 at the doorway H6607 of the tent H168 of meeting H4150, and eat H398 it there H8033 together with the bread H3899 which H834 is in the basket H5536 of the ordination H4394 offering H4394, just H834 as I commanded H6680, saying H559, ‘Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 shall eat H398 it.'
Then Moses H4872 spoke H1696 to Aaron H175 and to his remaining H3498 sons H1121, Eleazar H499 and Ithamar H385, “Take H3947 the remaining H3498 grain offering H4503 from the offerings H801 to Yahweh H3068 by H801 fire H801 and eat H398 it unleavened H4682 beside H681 the altar H4196, for it is most H6944 holy H6944.
‘When H3588 a woman H802 [fn]gives H2232 birth H2232 and bears H3205 a male H2145 child, then she shall be H2930 unclean H2930 for seven H7651 days H3117, as in the days H3117 of [fn]her menstruation H5079 H1738 she shall be H2930 unclean H2930.
‘When the days H3117 of her cleansing H2892 are fulfilled H4390, for a son H1121 or H176 for a daughter H1323, she shall bring H935 to the priest H3548 at the doorway H6607 of the tent H168 of meeting H4150 a one year H8141 old H1121 lamb H3532 for a burnt H5930 offering H5930 and a young H1121 pigeon H3123 or H176 a turtledove H8449 for a sin H2403 offering H2403.
“Tell H1696 your brother H251 Aaron H175 that he shall not enter H935 at any H3605 time H6256 into the holy H6944 place inside H4480 H1004 the veil H6532, before H413 H6440 the [fn]mercy H3727 seat H3727 which H834 is on the ark H727, so H3808 that he will not die H4191; for I will appear H7200 in the cloud H6051 over H5921 the mercy H3727 seat H3727.
Now when Moses H4872 went H935 into the tent H168 of meeting H4150 to speak H1696 with Him, he heard H8085 the voice H6963 speaking H1696 to him from above H5921 the [fn]mercy H3727 seat H3727 that was on the ark H727 of the testimony H5715, from between H996 the two H8147 cherubim H3742, so He spoke H1696 to him.
Yahweh H3068 therefore said H559 to Moses H4872, “Gather H622 for Me seventy H7657 men H376 from the elders H2205 of Israel H3478, whom H834 you know H3045 to be the elders H2205 of the people H5971 and their officers H7860, and take H3947 them to the tent H168 of meeting H4150, and let them take H3320 their stand H3320 there H8033 with you.
But two H8147 men H376 had remained H7604 in the camp H4264; the name H8034 of one H259 was Eldad H419 and the name H8034 of the [fn]other H8145 Medad H4312. And the Spirit H7307 rested H5117 upon them (now they were among those who had been registered H3789, but had not gone H3318 out H3318 to the tent H168), and they prophesied H5012 in the camp H4264.
So Yahweh H3068 said H559 to Aaron H175, “You and your sons H1121 and your father's H1 household H1004 with you shall bear H5375 the guilt H5771 [fn]in connection with the sanctuary H4720, and you and your sons H1121 with you shall bear H5375 the guilt H5771 [fn]in connection with your priesthood H3550.
Then Yahweh H3068 spoke H1696 to Aaron H175, “Now behold H2009, I Myself H589 have given H5414 you the responsibility H4931 of My [fn]contributions H8641, even all H3605 the holy H6944 gifts of the sons H1121 of Israel H3478 I have given H5414 them to you as a portion H4888 and to your sons H1121 as a perpetual H5769 statute H2706.

“Yahweh H3068 shall cause H5414 you to be [fn]defeated H5062 before H6440 your enemies H340; you will go H3318 out H3318 one H259 way H1870 against H413 them, but you will flee H5127 seven H7651 ways H1870 before H6440 them, and you will become an example of terror H2113 to all H3605 the kingdoms H4467 of the earth H776.
Then Yahweh H3068 said H559 to Moses H4872, “Behold H2005, [fn]the time H3117 for you to die H4191 is near H7126; call H7121 Joshua H3091 and present H3320 yourselves at the tent H168 of meeting H4150, that I may commission H6680 him.” So Moses H4872 and Joshua H3091 went H1980 and presented H3320 themselves at the tent H168 of meeting H4150.
Now Yahweh H3068 said H559 to Joshua H3091, “Do not fear H3372 or be dismayed H2865. Take H3947 all H3605 the people H5971 of war H4421 with you and arise H6965, go H5927 up H5927 to Ai H5857; see H7200, I have given H5414 into your hand H3027 the king H4428 of Ai H5857, his people H5971, his city H5892, and his land H776.
Now it happened H1961 when all H3605 the kings H4428 who H834 were beyond H5676 the Jordan H3383, in the hill H2022 country H2022 and in the [fn]Shephelah H8219 and on all H3605 the coast H2348 of the Great H1419 Sea H3220 toward H413 H4136 Lebanon H3844, the Hittite H2850 and the Amorite H567, the Canaanite H3669, the Perizzite H6522, the Hivite H2340 and the Jebusite H2983, heard H8085 of it,
Now it happened H1961 that when Adoni-zedek H139 king H4428 of Jerusalem H3389 heard H8085 that Joshua H3091 had captured H3920 Ai H5857 and had devoted H2763 it to destruction H2763 (just H834 as he had done H6213 to Jericho H3405 and its king H4428, so H3651 he had done H6213 to Ai H5857 and its king H4428), and that the inhabitants H3427 of Gibeon H1391 had made H7999 peace H7999 with Israel H3478 and were [fn]within H7130 their land H7130,
Then the men H376 of Gibeon H1391 sent H7971 word to Joshua H3091 to the camp H4264 at Gilgal H1537, saying H559, “Do not [fn]abandon H7503 H3027 H4480 your slaves H5650; come H5927 up H5927 to us quickly H4120 and save H3467 us and help H5826 us, for all H3605 the kings H4428 of the Amorites H567 that live H3427 in the hill H2022 country H2022 have assembled H6908 against H413 us.”
Then Yahweh H3068 said H559 to Joshua H3091, “Do not be H3372 afraid H3372 because H4480 H6440 of them, for tomorrow H4279 at this H2088 time H6256 I will give H5414 all H3605 of them over, slain H2491, before H6440 Israel H3478; you shall hamstring H6131 their horses H5483 and burn H8313 their chariots H4818 with fire H784.”
Then the sons H1121 of Judah H3063 drew H5066 near H5066 to Joshua H3091 in Gilgal H1537, and Caleb H3612 the son H1121 of Jephunneh H3312 the Kenizzite H7074 said H559 to him, “You know H3045 the word H1697 which H834 Yahweh H3068 spoke H1696 to Moses H4872 the man H376 of God H430 concerning H182 [fn]you and me in Kadesh-barnea H6947.
Then Phinehas H6372 the son H1121 of Eleazar H499 the priest H3548 and the leaders H5387 returned H7725 from the sons H1121 of Reuben H7205 and from the sons H1121 of Gad H1410, from the land H776 of Gilead H1568 to the land H776 of Canaan H3667, to the sons H1121 of Israel H3478, and brought H7725 back H7725 word H1697 to them.
“Now behold H2009, today H3117 I am going H1980 the way H1870 of all H3605 the earth H776, and you know H3045 in all H3605 your hearts H3824 and in all H3605 your souls H5315 that not one H259 word H1697 of all H3605 the good H2896 words H1697 which H834 Yahweh H3068 your God H430 spoke H1696 concerning H5921 you has failed H5307; all H3605 have come H935 to pass H935 for you; not one word H259 of them has failed H5307.
Now the sons H1121 of the Kenite H7017, Moses' H4872 father-in-law H2859, went H5927 up H5927 from the city H5892 of palms H8558 with the sons H1121 of Judah H3063, to the wilderness H4057 of Judah H3063 which H834 is in the south H5045 of Arad H6166; and they went H1980 and lived H3427 with the people H5971.
